My Life with Morrissey is a dark comedy that chronicles the adventures of an off-kilter office girl whose life unravels when she meets her idol (British rock icon Morrissey) and sets off on a journey of obsessive self-delusion.

Jackie, a hard-working production assistant at a Los Angeles television studio, pours herself into her work with an odd enthusiasm that her co-workers embrace with mixed feelings. By turns ridiculed, berated, harassed and just plain overworked, Jackie finds she can always withdraw to the safe haven of her fantasies when reality starts to hurt.

An obsessed Morrissey fan, her off-hours are spent scouring places he’s been spotted around L.A.. She cruises through the seamy underworld of Los Angeles nightlife and the hipster homes of the Hollywood Hills party people with equal awkwardness, suffering humiliation and dissappointment at the hands of all she meets.

One fateful night things take a turn for the worse when by chance her dream comes true. Meeting Morrissey in a deserted parking lot, her world is suddenly turned upside down, affecting her and everyone around her. Convinced Morrissey is in love with her, she begins to come out of her shell. As her delusional love for Morrissey grows so does her ego, and her willingness to lash out at those who have abused her in the past.

A comedy full of hi-jinx and insanity, My Life with Morrissey will shock you and amuse you, and will leave you asking the burning question “what the...?”. Not for the prudish, it takes an honest look at life, love and the search for fullfillment in the otherwise vapid life of an obsessive fan trapped within the confines of modern day corporate culture.

Filmed on location in Los Angeles and Burbank, the production was an independent venture headed by the talented writer/director Andrew Overtoom. The cast and crew generously donated their time and energy to get the film done on a shoe-string budget. Many employees of the cartoon series "Spongebob Squarepants" brought their talents together to make this outrageous comedy come to life.
